Our History…

The Sands House (picture above) holds a significant place in Singapore’s Scouting history. Originally known as St. Andrew’s House, it served as the Singapore Scouts’ Headquarters from 1950 to 1959 and was named after Frank Cooper Sands, a former Commissioner of Scouts and a founder of the Scouting movement in Malaya.
What remains of The Sands House today is the horizontal perimeter wall that was situated in front of the main building. This wall is located beside the Singapore Peranakan Museum today.
